Subject: Just exactly perfect
Listening to this, 41 years to the day after it was recorded. I'm a young head, so my live experience is through Dead & Co/Phil & Friends/others.
One way I like to connect with the dead is listen to shows on that day in history. Even if I can't be there, I like the idea that the world has the same seasonal vibe to it as those who were lucky enough to be at the show.
This show brings to mind every joke about the "just exactly perfect" band. Sure, Stella Blue may be a tough one for Jerry, and some of the songs may be mellower than heads may like, but I'll tell you what!
I was sick this week, my voice is just recovering. I don't know how cold it was in California on 1/18/78, but it's pretty damn cold in NYC on 1/18/19. For a slow, cold Friday afternoon, this show is just exactly perfect. Frog in Jerry's throat or no! And, as with every show, my life is better off for having heard it. Feeling Grateful!

This is not a board be forewarned and an unexceptional audience + not even the complete show... if u can deal with this there is a good estimated, and a very hoarse Jerry...

Terrapin thru Sugar Mag without stopping. Nice! Interesting Playin > Passenger > Jam, nice drippy Stella. Jer's still got lingering laryngitis. Isn't 1/22/78, but a nice prelude.
